Restaurants, cafés and pubs

Websites for Isle of Wight restaurants, cafés and pubs.

People want three things before they eat out: the menu, your opening hours and a way to book. We design a site that gives them all three quickly, and you see it before you pay.

What diners look for

Made for someone deciding where to eat tonight.

Most people looking at a restaurant website are on their phone. Plenty are already on the island, on holiday or out for the day, and choosing between you and the place next door. They want your menu, your hours and a way to book, and if they can't find them in a few seconds they go elsewhere.

Menus as real words on the page

A PDF menu is hard to read on a phone and does less for you on Google than the same words on the page. We put your menus on the site as proper text, so they load quickly and read well. It also gives someone searching for "crab sandwich Ventnor" or "Sunday roast Newport" a better chance of finding you. You can still offer the PDF to download if you like.

Opening hours that match everywhere

Island hours change with the seasons. When your website says one thing, Google says another and Facebook says a third, people turn up to a locked door and they remember it. Your hours sit in one place on the new site, and you can change them yourself in the Client Hub when winter hours start or the summer rush arrives.

Booking through what you already use

If you take bookings through ResDiary, OpenTable, Square or over the phone, you keep doing that. We put a clear Book a table button where people expect it, on every page and within thumb's reach on a phone. Nothing changes for your staff.

Prices and allergens get a second look

You can update dishes and prices yourself by asking in the Client Hub. Any change to a price or an allergen note waits for Reuben's check before it goes live, so a typo can't turn into a problem at the table.

Room for events and specials

Quiz nights, live music, Christmas parties and Sunday roasts each get their own section, so people can find them on Google and you can link to them from Instagram. When you need a new one, you can ask for it in the Client Hub.

How it works

Designed first. You only pay if you love it.

  1. Tell us about your businessIt takes two minutes: your name, what you do, and your current site if you have one.
  2. We design your homepageBy hand, with your own photos and words that sound like you. The design costs you nothing.
  3. Look at it on your phoneYou get a private link. Ask for changes until it feels right.
  4. Love it? It goes live. You switch it on with step-by-step help in your Client Hub. If it's not for you, you owe nothing.
  5. Change it whenever you likeAsk for a change in plain words, check the preview, then press Go live. Undo is always there.

Questions

Straight answers.

Can I update the menu myself?

Yes. Ask for the change in plain words in your Client Hub, check the preview and press Go live. Price and allergen changes wait for Reuben's check first.

We already have a booking system. Can we keep it?

Yes. Whatever you use for bookings, orders or payments now, we link it into the new site, so nothing changes for your customers or your staff.

Can you photograph our food?

Photography is a separate service. You can add a shoot at your place as a package with your website, or we work with the photos you have.

Do you make sites for pubs and bars too?

Yes. Pubs and bars usually need kitchen hours, a what's on page and room for live music and events, and we design around that.

We run more than one place. Can they share a login?

Yes. A group with several sites can manage them all from one Client Hub login, with one shared pot of credits for changes.

Let's design yours.

Tell us a little about your business and we'll start on your homepage. You won't need a card, and you only pay if you love it.
