How you sell

An online shop, or a shop window?

Plenty of island shops do best with a site that shows what's in stock, when you're open and where to find you, plus click and collect for locals. Others sell across the country and need a full online shop with a checkout. We talk it through with you first and design for the way you sell.

Selling from the island

Posting from the Isle of Wight has its quirks. Some couriers charge more to collect from or deliver to the island, so we set your delivery prices to cover what it really costs you, and make collection an easy choice for local customers.

Card payments, paid straight to you

Customers pay by card through a trusted provider such as Stripe, and the money goes to your own account. Isle of Wight Stock, the photo library we built and run, takes card payments this way every day.

Downloads and made-to-order

Digital products, like Elderberrie Blue's printable cards, can be bought and downloaded the same day. Made-to-order and personalised pieces can ask for the details you need at checkout.

Products people can find

Each product gets its own page with clear photos and a proper description, written so it can turn up on Google when someone searches for what you make.

  1. Tell us about your businessIt takes two minutes: your name, what you do, and your current site if you have one.
  2. We design your homepageBy hand, with your own photos and words that sound like you. The design costs you nothing.
  3. Look at it on your phoneYou get a private link. Ask for changes until it feels right.
  4. Love it? It goes live. You switch it on with step-by-step help in your Client Hub. If it's not for you, you owe nothing.
  5. Change it whenever you likeAsk for a change in plain words, check the preview, then press Go live. Undo is always there.

Questions

Straight answers.

Can I change prices and descriptions myself?

Yes. Ask for the change in plain words in your Client Hub, check the preview and press Go live. Price changes wait for Reuben's check first.

I sell on Etsy. Can I keep doing that?

Yes. You can keep selling on Etsy or another marketplace alongside your own site, and link between them.

Do I need an online shop at all?

Not always. If most of your customers come through the door, a shop window site with your opening hours, what's in stock and click and collect may be all you need. We'll tell you honestly which suits you.

Can you photograph my products?

Photography is a separate service. You can add a shoot as a package with your website, or we work with the photos you have.

Let's design yours.

Tell us a little about your business and we'll start on your homepage. You won't need a card, and you only pay if you love it.
